Who: Ronit Asa, Dietitian and Nutritionist

“I am a registered dietitian and nutritionist. I’m from Istanbul (Turkey) and i am part of the TelAviv Doctor team as a registered dietitian.

As a registered dietitian, my mission is to raise awareness of the link between food and health. I help my clients to make health-conscious decisions about food and lifestyle. I prepare individual dietary plans for each person, with consideration of overall health, in order to improve and protect their health.

My goal is to provide the best possible healthy and sustainable diet program to my patients by considering their personal needs and challenges, including taste, cooking skills and accessibility.

“Just as each individual’s fingerprint is different, the individual diet treatment should be specific and unique.”

Food is not only related to providing energy, but is also a major activity for socializing. Therefore, while I prepare a diet program, I consider my patients’ lifestyle and their individual emotional background towards eating.

Healthy eating is all about having balanced proportions of nutrient-rich food from various groups, as well as adapting to healthy eating habits. Good nutrition contributes heavily to your overall health and wellness.

What: Nutritionist & Dietitian’s Consultations

Childhood / Adolescence

I support children in their development, maintaining a healthy body weight. I work with the parents finding solutions if there are food related issues the children face. We create a balanced menu plan with main dishes and snacks to educate the children to make healthy choices also away from home and at school. In our consultations I also provide information about nutritional disorders such as food allergies. You will receive a personalized balanced sample menu and various healthy recipes for your children. This way, you will become more involved and make more educated choices regarding your children’s nutrition and health.

Pregnancy / Postpartum

I support you throughout pregnancy and development. Eating the right amounts of nutrients and having a balanced diet is very important both for your own health and for your baby’s development.

Diabetes, Pre-diabetes, Cholesterol

The choices you make when you eat, don’t affect only one part of your body. It affects your heart, your brain, your skin … Good nutrition can benefit you on many levels. It’s easily one of the best ways to improve your health and your quality of life.  We will work together to reduce the risk of chronic disease, and to achieve better overall health and well-being.

Depending On Your Situation We Will Also Focus On

  • Weight loss or weight gain
  • Vegan and vegetarian nutrition
  • Digestive system problems

How: What is the consulting process?

First of all, I work with the belief that one’s health and well-being are influenced by many different issues like lifestyle, medical history, family history, emotional health and nutritional habits. Based on these, I make nutritional assessment with a range of complex medical tests to know my patients better.

I try to educate and give advice to my patients about diet-related disorders and practical ways to improve their health by supporting them to develop appropriate lifestyle and food choices.

It is very important for me to work as part of a multidisciplinary team (including doctors and other health professionals) to improve and protect the overall health of my patient by way of a holistic approach.

“I firmly believe that there is no one-size-fits-all diet. Genetics, family history, diagnoses, sustainability, and more factors influence what is the best diet for a person.”

Good nutrition has a direct impact on your overall health and quality of life and with quality nutrition you can reduce your risk of developing certain diseases that could severely impact your health you can avoid many chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease. The cure of the diseases is also through good nutrition.

It can be hard to work through diet-related problems alone. Having a dietitian means you have someone to work through your problems and relapses with as well as someone to push you towards achieving your nutrition goals and lead you on this journey step by step.”
